My company offers a service of bringing foreign customers to Trinidad. One of the challenges that I have experienced is the news of our crime situation hindering potential clients from wanting to visit. In keeping with the concepts taught in the Unit on national branding versus the nation and the brand, my brand is unknown, it is new to the foreign market. So I would have liked to highlight the national brand as a positive, and there certainly are many many positive points about our national brand that are internationally-recognized. However, the socio-economic scourge of crime has marred the image that some foreign customers have of the country in their mind. As such, I have to now find ways to promote my service, by allaying the fears of the international customer.
