The Unit was very detailed in listing the various channels and considerations when choosing an appropriate distribution channel for products. However there was insufficient discussion on distribution channels for services, which made this Unit a typical teaching Unit with the traditional information. What was new to me was the 4Ps + I, which is a good reminder.
What could have been added to make this presentation above average was how to distribute/export a service/ choose a distributor for the exporting of services. So choosing for example a retailer in a market and bidding the for after-sale service contract could have been looked at. Or piggybacking on how other service providers gain access to end users could have been tied into the piggybacking discussion.
Other than this visible omission, the info provided was detailed.
